Ace of Spades

With everything that has been happening recently, it’s been a struggle to get everything together for what I dub the Ace of Spades Tri-Interview Part One. After this interview, another three websites will be interviewed to be part of the part deux to this project. There is a possibility of a part three, but I’m not sure. Without further ado, I would like to present to you three wonderful websites: Starfish Factory, Sparrowhawk’s Nest, and Phoenix Fire. Each of the admins has been very cooperative with the project and has been more than willing to fill out the questions I asked them. INTERVIEW WITH LIVYVAZZ OF STARFISH FACTORY

1. What is Starfish Factory?
Starfish Factory is a forum where people from all over the world can get together and talk about things that they enjoy.
2. Why did you start Starfish Factory?
I started Starfish Factory because I generally love making forums and I love starfish.
3. Where would you say most of the members come from? (do you get them through affiliates, places where you place an ad, Google, etc.)
Well I would say all my members come from forums that I’m a member of, I haven’t submitted SF onto any search engines, however I’m affiliates with Pink Imoen, Legends and Evening Sparkles.
4. What makes Starfish Factory unique?
Um…that’s a hard one. I think it’s the fact that the whole board names are named after things from the sea.
5. What are you goals for Starfish Factory for 2006?
Well, my main goals are to have a great time and everyone else to have a great time, to get more active and valuable members and gaining more hits by the day.
6. Any final comments?

1. What is Sparrowhawk’s Nest? (Describe the forum a bit)
Sparrowhawk’s nest is my little site for anyone who is too intimidated by the huge sites. We are a friendly community with lots of fun activities.
2. What makes your site unique from the other forums?
The people who come here everyday. Everyone has a different personality and they are all quite interesting to listen and talk to.
3. I noticed the name “Lome” in the URL. How did you come to run a LOME site?
Because this site used to be the old L.O.M.E. Productions, until Linkmax found a better web host.
4. Why should people come to your forum?
Because we have lots to offer them, despite our small size, like a warm welcome, custom title, a sig/avatar set if they want it and a decent variety of user groups to join.
5. Any final comments?

INTERVIEW WITH GOKU OF PHOENIX’S FIRE

1. What is Phoenix’s Fire? (Describe the site)
Phoenix’s Fire is basically the third site in the LOME loop, but I like to think that it is much more than that.
2. What makes your site unique?
I’m not really sure what EXACTLY makes this place different from other sites. But if I had to pick something, I would say that it’s the wonderful people who join our little hovel. They bring they’re individual personalities together and really make this little place feel special.
3. In one word, describe your members.
Unique.
4. How did this site come into being?
Well, I originally made this site because I was tired of being the only one out of the three of us who didn’t have their own web forum.
5. What are your goals for 2006?
To get more members and make this place a fun place to be.
6. Any final comments?
I hope that you have a fun filled day! And I also want you to enjoy being a member here.

Today, tragic news came in about the thirteen miners stuck down in the shaft. Only one has survived after reports came in that all but one had lived. After rejoice coming to the families’ and media’s faces, they were all let down to hear the terrible news this morning.

I ask for a moment of silence, perhaps prayer, or just to think for a while - what it would be like to be related to one of those people. If it had been your father, uncle, grandfather, or close friend down there.

A much needed update on all websites! I have the break-down on who’s hot, who’s not, and who’s livin’ on the edge.

Pink Imoen: Still going strong, Pink Imoen continues to flourish with its strong member count and activity. Also, the topsites are still rising, with several new members since the last time I updated on forum goings.

Xero’s Gaming Forum: Similiar to Pink Imoen, this site is growing like crazy. There is never a time when I CAN’T find something new to talk about over there.

Sims 2 Talk: More slow times ahead. Activity has picked up a bit - especially in the Open for Business and Anything forum, but posts are rarely more than five to ten a day.

Spore: Spore is currently in a decline after the surge from members XGF joining during the affiliation process and the review of their website. Right now posts are ranging from 1-5 a day and with luck some new info will come out on the game soon!

Remember, if you wish to have your site ‘added to the feed’, then you will have to contact me at one of the above websites (Spore and Sims 2 Talk are the best).

Not news or anything…but I changed the skin…not that there are many choices.
